Digipak Analysis
The conventions of this digipak
include the close-up photography of the singer herself, the title of the album,
CD disk, and there will be a list of the song numbers on the back.
The colours used on this digipak
connote the feelings of love with the bright red colour of her hair and the
roses, suggesting the album numbers have a theme of love or maybe heartbreak.
The colour white can also be seen suggesting innocence and purity of the
individual. This attracts the audience of the pop genre because the colours are
attracting as they connote and hint as to what the songs in the album.
The artist of this album has a
singular name ‘Rihanna’ so to match with this the title of the album is a one
word too, ‘Loud’. This element communicates the genre through the use of
minimal syllables in the words, relating to the pop genre where the lyrics can
be short and snappy at times.
The font used for this digipak is spaced out and fine, this is important that the font does not overpower the images on the digipak and the fact that the font is white also foreshadows the use of white costume, a suggested wedding dress, connoting purity. This would attract audience members through the use of the title being a hint for the album theme.
