Unconventional Narratives

Non-Linear narratives and circular narratives have a structure that is not so straight forward.

The disruption can come before the equilibrium. For example, in a police drama a crime might take place at the beginning of the episode and then cut to the cop having breakfast with their family. Then solves the disruption.

A non-linear narrative can move backwards and forwards in the time usually a flashback technique. This is used in the film ‘500 Days’ which follows a relationship but we see flashbacks and flashforwards as the story progresses.
